In recent months we have been pleased to welcome four new Fellows to Pembroke’s Governing Body, along with the election of one Honorary Fellow.

Pembroke has received a ‘Highly Commended’ award at the 2025 Oxford Preservation Trust Awards for our recent retrofit and refurbishment of Staircases 13-15 in North Quad.

Our annual Long Service Awards celebrate staff who have dedicated more than a decade to the College. This year’s awards ceremony in Broadgates Hall recognised six members of staff with a collective 125 years of committed service. 

New Pembroke JRF, Revd Dr Oliver Wright, who has joined the Religion and Frontier Challenges postdoctoral fellowship programme, recently spoke at Harvard at a conference on Theology and AI. 

Pembroke runners would have made our former Master, Sir Roger Bannister, proud last weekend with their excellent performance at Cross Country Cuppers.

Dane Luo, Pembroke College’s Farthing Scholar in Administrative Law, recently played a key role in supporting the Fiji Law Society in a historically significant Supreme Court case for the people of Fiji.

It is with great sadness that the College has learnt of the death of Mr Antonio Aguilar, a much-loved member of the Pembroke community who served for 50 years as SCR Butler.

Pembroke’s JCR Access and Outreach Representative, Lennon Airey (2024, History), has co-founded an independent free mentorship programme for state school students across the Northeast of England. Featured on ITV News and BBC Radio 1, State Elevate pairs undergraduates from top UK universities with students from North East schools and colleges, offering free support for university applications.

Honorary Fellow and alumnus Tarik O'Regan (1996, BA Music) recently featured in the Guardian and a BBC Radio 3 documentary where he explored the impact of AI on the music industry.
