A very successful Torpids campaign for PCBC has come to an end, resulting in a historic Torpids Headship for W1 and strong performances from M1 and M2!

We are saddened to report the recent death of Emeritus Fellow of Pembroke and Mathematical Physicist, Professor Ian Grant.

College was bustling with visitors at this year’s Offer Holder Day, with 83 of our 2025 Undergraduate Offer Holders coming to get a glimpse of the place they will hopefully call home from October. 

Earlier this term, Pembroke joined in with university-wide efforts to encourage sustainability practices among staff and students. Oxford’s 2025 ‘Green Action Week’ saw numerous events held across different Colleges which promoted the ‘actions’ we can take as a community to secure a greener future.

Earlier this month, our Master the Rt Hon Sir Ernest Ryder delivered the annual High Sheriff’s Law Lecture in the University of Oxford’s Examination Schools.

Beth Kume-Holland (2013, History), alumna and award-winning disability advocate, returned to Pembroke earlier this week to unveil a new plaque celebrating her achievements.

New photographic portraits have been hung in Hall for the new year. Since 2017, six alumni are selected annually to have their portraits hung in our Dining Hall as a way of celebrating their varied career paths and achievements.

The new year has brought in a host of new Honorary Fellows. Four former Pembroke students were appointed as Honorary Fellows by Governing Body just before Christmas to celebrate their prolific careers and achievements. We are pleased to welcome Radoslaw Sikorski, Professor Mark Thomson, Dr Michael Hwang, and Sebastian Raduletu as our new Honorary Fellows!

Congratulations to Paralympic Gold medallist and Pembroke alumna Erin Kennedy MBE who has been recognised on the King’s 2025 New Year Honours List.
