400 Characters Nominations

We are inviting nominations of individuals you would like to see represented in 400 Characters – alumni, students, academics or staff; past or present; household names or unsung heroes. Whether celebrated for milestone achievements, for generous service, or as friendly faces or community-builders, we would love to hear about special Pembroke characters known to you.

400 Hours

400 Hours is a project to celebrate and record our College in its 400th anniversary year.

Every 400 hours throughout 2024 a new piece of content will be published on this page, capturing the activities, talents and character of our worldwide community at 400 years old.

Celebrate with our own Pembroke sparkling wines, specially produced by Pembrokians Mike and Hilary Wagstaff to celebrate the College's 400th anniversary.

Pembroke Pink

This delicately pale rosé sparkling wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes using the traditional method. The wine was lovingly grown and produced in the Surrey Hills and has matured in Greyfriars' cellars for over four years before release. Modern in style, it is redolent with Summer fruit and berries and looks towards the future as Pembroke enters its fifth century.

Pembroke 1624

This classic sparkling wine is made from a traditional blend ('cuvée') of all three classic Champagne grape varieties; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and produced using the traditional method. The wine was lovingly grown and produced in the Surrey Hills and has matured in bottle in Greyfriars' cellars for over five years before release. The traditional style of this sparkling wine is a homage to Pembroke's history.
