Oxford University Media Society Talk: Sharon White

On Monday 26th November Sharon White, Chief Executive of Ofcom and a former senior civil servant, will take part in a discussion with Theo Davies-Lewis, the President of Oxford University Media Society. Sharon will talk about her work and the challenges and opportunities facing the media industry across the UK.

Voted one of the 100 most influential figures in the UK media, Sharon White leads the regulator for television, radio and video on demand, as well as the wider communications services in the UK. She is the first woman and the first BME leader of the UK’s most powerful media regulator, having started her career in the Civil Service. She later became the first female permanent secretary at the Treasury, having formerly worked at the World Bank and 10 Downing Street policy unit.
