Professor Fredrik Karpe Appears on BBC’s ‘Trust Me, I’m A Doctor’

Pembroke Retained Lecturer in Medicine Fredrik Karpe featured in an episode of the BBC TWO factual series ‘Trust me, I’m a Doctor’, which aims to expose the truth behind health-related questions and discuss the most pressing debates.

Professor Karpe, who is Professor of Metablolic Medicine at the ‘Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism’, was interviewed by the programme’s presenter Michael Mosley.

He was given the opportunity to summarise his research into different types of fat tissue in the body, arguing that excess fat in the lower body is completel harmless and shouldn’t necessarily be targeted for weight loss therapies.
