PAST EVENT | 20 May 2014 19:30

How effective is international aid? Can it do more harm than good? Join the conversation at the Pembroke Documentary Series!

We will be screening Fatal Assistance, a powerful documentary that is bound to spark debate.

Award-winning Haitian born filmmaker Raoul Peck takes us on a two-year journey inside the challenging, contradictory, and colossal rebuilding efforts in post-earthquake Haiti. Through its provocative and radical point of view Fatal Assistance offers a devastating insight into the international community's post-disaster idealism and into the shortcomings of international aid.

The screening will be followed by a debate and drinks. Suggested donation of £3 at the door.

Open to the entire Oxford University community, the Pembroke Documentary Series presents outstanding films and documentaries that spark discussion on current social issues. Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PembrokeDocumentary
