Head Scout

We are looking for a friendly and hardworking Head Scout to oversee the work of a small team of Scouts (cleaners) and ensure that student rooms and communal areas are cleaned to the highest standards. You will have at least two years of cleaning supervisory experience and be a key member of our scouting team.

The successful candidate will receive COSH and supervisory skills training.

Founded in 1624, Pembroke is an inclusive and dynamic College based on a central site in Oxford, with a separate annexe on the Thames a 10-minute walk from the main site. The annexe has 170 student bedrooms.

Additionally, the College has a busy out-of-term conference business that ensures the housekeeping team is busy year-round.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Head Scout will be responsible for:

  1. Overseeing and supervising the work of the GAB Scouts.
  2. Managing the work roster and monitor the standards of cleaning services at the GAB, instituting remedial action/improvements as necessary
  3. Supporting the Housekeeping Manager to adhere to COSHH Regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  4. Serving as an excellent Scout, a role model to others, covering duties of Scouts and Head Scout during holidays and absenteeism.
  5. Any other duties that may be reasonably required

Salary £28,644 per annum. The position is full-time (37½ hours per week), with occasional weekend working when required.
