Will Fawcett (2013) in control room as Large Hadron Collider research restarts

NEWS |

Pembroke DPhil student in Particle Physics Will Fawcett was part of the team of scientists who oversaw the reignition of the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva on 3rd June.

After a two year pause the facility is operating again, colliding "stable" beams at higher energy levels than those previously achieved, with exciting possibilities for the data which can now be collected.

During the relaunch, Will Fawcett was the "Run Control" shifter for the ATLAS experiment - a unique opportunity to take part in the making of history in the field of particle physics.
