Professor X: superhero and Pembroke alumnus

Writing in the THE magazine this week Matthew Reisz explores the parallels between comic book superheroes and plotlines and the people and scenarios of modern academia.  His starting point is Professor X from the Marvel comics X-Men series who, as well as being a mutant superhero is a genetics scholar who appears to have studied at Pembroke College Oxford as well as at Harvard.  The article goes on to look at other examples and to discuss the relevance, if any, of these characters to real-world scientists and scholars.
