Pembroke Offer Holders Welcomed to College

NEWS |

Having recently received their offers to study at Pembroke, our 2023 Undergraduate Offer Holders were invited to College earlier this month for a chance to look around and to meet current students and members of staff.

We were delighted to welcome 84 students to Pembroke for the occasion. Those who weren’t able to join in person will be sent a recording of the presentations given on the day.

The morning saw Offer Holders welcomed to College with tours led by our Student Ambassadors, as well as a talk from the Academic Office and Domestic teams. Members of staff gave presentations offering a taste of life at Pembroke, followed by a Q&A.

After enjoying their very first lunch in Hall, Offer Holders met the Junior Common Room (JCR) Committee and attended a Welcome Talk and Student Life Q&A. This was followed by JCR-led tours of Oxford.

Our Student Officer, Kate Bickerton, says: “It was great to welcome so many of our Offer Holders to College last week! We really wanted them to get a feel for what living and studying at Pembroke might be like, and to provide an opportunity to ask questions in person to staff and current students. This felt especially important given that the admissions process took place online this year, and not everyone will have been able to visit us on an Open Day.

We hope that Offer Holders are excited to join our community. We will continue to support their transition to university and to answer any questions they might have.”

We’ll be in touch with more information for Offer Holders in the near future. Anyone who was unable to join for the day is very welcome to visit us with family or friends on one of the Oxford University Open Days on 28th and 29th June!
