Pembroke Lecturer Commended for Outstanding Research Impact from MPLS

Congratulations to Pembroke Lecturer, Dr Molly Grace, for receiving an Outstanding Research Impact commendation. These awards, given by Oxford’s Mathematics, Physical and Life Sciences Division (MPLS), celebrate researchers and academics who have made significant contributions to the economy or wider society through their research. 

Nominations were reviewed across several impact categories and from researchers at all career stages. Dr Grace was commended for delivering a novel impact assessment framework to enable ambitious and effective species conservation action. Her research has been covered by many global media channels, such as the Guardian.

Professor Mark Fricker (Pembroke, 1981) and Professor Tim Coulson, Joint Heads of the Department of Biology, commented: “… Molly has been conducting some excellent and exciting research, with enormous opportunity for impact. Her work is important, innovative, and high profile, and she thoroughly deserves this commendation.”

Dr Grace shares: “It’s a great honour to receive this commendation from MPLS. This work has been made possible through global collaboration with a wonderful team of colleagues, and I hope that through this work we can promote conservation optimism and global action to protect nature.”
