Executive Chairman of CCW Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Last November, Lord Alderdice, Executive Chairman of the Changing Character of War research centre which is based at Pembroke, was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 RCPsych Awards.

The award marks Lord Alderdice’s huge contributions to both psychiatry and public life over the course of his career, including a significant role in the 1988 Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland.

Prior to his involvement with the Changing Character of War Centre, Lord Alderdice was a consultant psychiatrist in psychotherapy and Senior Lecturer at The Queen’s University, Belfast, where he established the Centre for Psychotherapy. He has held various roles in Northern Ireland’s Alliance Party, the Northern Ireland Assembly, the Independent Monitoring Commission and Liberal International.
