Pembroke Senior Research Fellow in Arabic Dr Elisabeth Kendall recently published her much anticipated Special Issue of CTC Sentinel titled ‘Twenty Years After 9/11.’ This issue of the highly prestigious journal of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point in the US has received a great deal of international interest and praise. It includes contributions from the former General in charge of US Special Forces and former Head of Mi6.

Dr Kendall also appeared in the Arab Digest podcast to talk about the research in her article and to assess how developments in Afghanistan might boost militant jihadi threat from al-Qa’ida’s branch in the Arabian Peninsula.

Dr Kendall has also recently travelled to Copenhagen, Denmark (which had one of the most important spies inside al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula for nearly a decade) as a guest speaker at an international conference on ‘Global Jihad 20 Years After 9/11.’
