Dr Elisabeth Kendall Elected to Honorary Fellowship

NEWS |

We are delighted to announce that Dr Elisabeth Kendall, incoming Mistress of Girton College, Cambridge, has been elected to an Honorary Fellowship at Pembroke College in recognition of her distinguished academic career as a British Arabist and her services to Pembroke as an undergraduate, a College Lecturer and a Senior Research Fellow in Arabic.

Dr Kendall recently concluded her Senior Research Fellowship at Pembroke after almost 12 years of service. In October 2022, she will be taking on the role of Mistress at Girton College.

Sir Ernest Ryder, Master of Pembroke College, comments: “In addition to her vast experience as both an Advisor and Trustee for different institutions and governments, and the significant number of guest lectures she has delivered over the years, Dr Kendall has been involved in College life in a wide variety of ways and volunteered her time over and above that which would be expected in her role. Her support to the Arabic tutorial team has been invaluable, from delivering teaching to undergraduates and supporting the admissions process, to securing placements and internships for students looking for work in the Middle East. We look forward to her continuing relationship with Pembroke College.”
