Mr Samuel Snowdon

Retained Lecturer in Medicine

Having completed my MSc in Human Anatomy with Education at The University of Sheffield in 2019, I received a job working in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) where I have since been involved with teaching in the Anatomy Suite. I was appointed my position as college tutor in medicine here at Pembroke College in 2021.

Most of my teaching in DPAG contributes to the practical anatomy and neuroanatomy education of biomedical and pre-clinical medical and graduate-entry medical students. As a college tutor, I deliver tutorials covering human gross anatomy, histology, embryology and endocrinology.

I am very passionate about my teaching. The human body is such a fascinating thing and it is great to take the students on a journey to understand the structure of our body and how it works and also to look at what happens if things don’t quite work as they should. I love seeing how motivated and inspired the students get about the subject. Learning can be fun!

In my spare time, I love to get out to the great outdoors, be it climbing, hiking, kayaking or running.
