Mr Mantas Abazorius

College Lecturer in Physics

I am a DPhil student in the Fusion Plasma Theory group, working with Prof. Felix Parra Diaz. I came to Oxford in 2013 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Physics at Merton College. Evidently, I enjoyed it so much that after obtaining my MMathPhys degree in 2017, I decided to stay on for a DPhil. In 2022, I joined Pembroke College as a College Lecturer in Physics and have truly enjoyed my time here. This year, I am teaching Mechanics and Electromagnetism & Optics to 1st-year students, and Symmetry & Relativity and General Relativity to 3rd-year students. Teaching provides me with an opportunity to meet the next generation of physicists, helping them not only study physics but also ensuring they can appreciate all the great concepts they are learning, even in the midst of a busy term. I also look forward to improving my own understanding of the subject through engaging discussions with students.
