UK India Achievers Award for Pembroke Student

NEWS |

Congratulations to Pembroke student Utkarsh Amitabh (2022, MSt Practical Ethics) for receiving a UK India Achievers Award last month for excellence in his field. These awards marked India’s 75th independence anniversary and celebrated 75 Indian achievers who are studying/have studied in the UK. Winners of the award were recognised not only for their academic accomplishments but also for “inspiring and encouraging many others to dream and achieve.”

Utkarsh, entrepreneur and author, is the chief executive officer of Network Capital, a career experimentation and advancement platform, and the chief marketing officer of 5ire.org. Reflecting on his time at Pembroke and this award, he shares: “Pembroke has a thriving community that celebrates your successes and stands by you when things don't work out. The MCR (Middle Common Room) does a great job at embracing diversity of thought, conviction and opinion. I learn from academics, fellows and students every day. It makes me a better leader and a more nuanced writer.”

Utkarsh is the author of two books published by SAGE and he also writes for Harvard Business Review and World Economic Forum. He adds: “I am happy to be conferred the UK India Achievers Award and look forward to giving back to Pembroke and the University of Oxford in all possible ways. My new book Passion Economy and the Side Hustle Revolution launches on March 20th and I know the Pembroke community will be cheering for me.”
