Pembroke Hosts Final Open Day of 2023

NEWS |

On Friday 15th September we welcomed around 750 prospective applicants and their supporters to Pembroke for our final Undergraduate Open Day of the year. Visitors were welcomed at the Lodge by members of staff, before taking tours of College with our team of friendly student ambassadors who were ready to answer questions about living and studying at Pembroke, life in Oxford, and much more.

Visitors saw example student rooms, our historic Dining Hall, the JCR and Farthings, and enjoyed the chance soak up the September sunshine in our quads. Tours led to the Pichette Auditorium where prospective applicants could learn about student life, welfare and community, sustainability at Pembroke, funding opportunities and more. 16 subject tutors were available for informal drop-in sessions throughout the afternoon, giving visitors a chance to ask questions about courses and academic life at Pembroke.

Dr Lois Brand, Stipendiary Lecturer in Medicine, gave a talk on making a competitive application for Medicine, which was attended by around 40 pupils interested in studying Medicine at Oxford.

And in Pembroke style, visitors were sent on their way with free doughnuts to see them through a busy day.

If you missed our 2023 Open Days, there are lots of resources to help you make a decision about whether Pembroke is the place for you on our Open Days page here and in our Digital Prospectus, which provides information about all aspects of living and studying at Pembroke.
