Farewell to Dame Lynne Brindley

NEWS |

This week marks the end of the formal tenure of Dame Lynne Brindley as Master of Pembroke.

Professor Owen Darbishire, Vicegerent and Fellow comments: “While we are constrained in how we can mark this occasion we are enormously grateful to Lynne for all that she has done for Pembroke.  She has galvanised our academic ambition and challenged us to do better.  She has taken time to get to know all members of the community and to care about each individual.  She has led from the front in living our values of collaboration and adaptability.”

He goes on: “These last few months have thrown up their own difficulties, but Lynne has led us with sensitivity and wisdom through unprecedented times, and she hands over a vibrant and optimistic College to her successor Sir Ernest Ryder.  We are all indebted to her and appreciate that she will be supporting the transition as Sir Ernest takes up the reins over the Summer.”

The College community looks forward to being able to say a personal farewell to Lynne when the current social restrictions are lifted, as there is much to be celebrated from her time at Pembroke.  In the meantime, Lynne has made a farewell video message reflecting on some highlights of her time (see right).
