Appointment of Development Director

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jacob Ward as Pembroke’s new Development Director, starting in August 2024.

Jacob brings with him more than a decade of experience in educational fundraising, having held significant roles in development and alumni relations at three Oxford colleges – St John’s, Christ Church, and Wadham – and most recently at Eton College.  

During his tenure at Eton as the Senior Development Executive, Jacob secured a number of substantial gifts and led the development of a long-term fundraising strategy. His efforts at St John’s, where he served as the Deputy Development Director, led to consistent annual growth in fundraising income and supported a major expansion in the College’s work on access and outreach.

Jacob’s leadership and collaborative approach have consistently delivered successful and sustainable outcomes. He says: “I am delighted to be joining Pembroke and look forward to realising the exciting possibilities for its future by securing support for the upcoming major fundraising Campaign. Moreover, I am very much looking forward to getting to know the College and meeting many alumni and supporters in the months and years ahead.”
