Alumni Weekend 2024: Celebrating 400 years of Pembroke

NEWS |

Our Alumni Weekend last month was a wonderful opportunity for past Pembroke students to come together and enjoy a packed weekend of activities. The weekend kicked off on Friday night with some gin tasting from alumna Minnie Parmiter’s (2004, Biological Sciences) distillery Copper Lion.

On Saturday, concert pianist Aïda Lahlou gave a wonderful piano performance in the Pichette Auditorium which was filled with over sixty alumni. The recital was followed by a fascinating discussion on Pembroke’s history, with a panel in the afternoon hosted by Greg Neale (1999, History) on ‘Reflections of Pembroke’s 400 Years of History’ with Dr Nicholas Cole (Academic Director and Senior Research Fellow), Andrew Seton (Emeritus Fellow), and Professor Laurence Brockliss.

To celebrate our 400th year, College hosted a lovely Afternoon Tea as well as a 1980s Decade Dinner which proved to be very popular and replaced our Reunion Dinner. It was lovely welcoming back our alumni and seeing them reconnect and reminisce about their time at Pembroke.

Plans for our 2025 Alumni Weekend, which will be held on the 19th to the 21st of September, are already well underway. We look forward to welcoming you all back again very soon!
