Alumna Beth Kume-Holland named one of the UK’s most influential disabled people

NEWS |

We are thrilled to extend our warm congratulations to alumna Beth Kume-Holland (2013, History) who has received not one but two awards this Disability History Month!

Not only has she been listed in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 for 2024, an award which recognizes the UK’s most influential disabled leaders, trailblazers and change makers; Beth has also won the Changemaker of the Year award at the Foundervine Future Awards. Her company Patchwork Hub also made it onto the Shaw Trust’s list of 100 ‘most influential disabled people and organisations in the UK’ and won the award for Best Small Employer.

Beth’s experience living and working with a disability and facing unnecessary barriers in the workplace led her to start Patchwork Hub, a disabled-led employment platform, training and consultancy service. The platform acts as a bridge between inclusive employers and talented disabled and neurodivergent jobseekers, consulting employers on how best to approach accessibility and disability inclusion.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been included in the Disability Power 100 again, and it’s a true honour that Patchwork Hub has also been named this year,” Beth shared. “I’ve looked up to so many of the recipients of the Power 100 over the years, and it’s their influential work that has given me confidence through my own disability journey. This recognition is fantastic in highlighting the work that Patchwork Hub does, and I can’t wait for everyone to see us build out our impact across the coming months and years.”

We look forward to seeing Patchwork Hub continue to grow and make the workforce fairer and more inclusive, and are immensely proud of Beth’s work and the recognition she has received. The Disability Power 100 List can be found here
