'The Time is Now' - Pembroke Film Masterclass meets Birds Eye View

PAST EVENT | 23 November 2015 18:00 - 23 November 2015 21:00

Come along to an exciting Film Masterclass, hosted by Pembroke MCR and supported by #thetimeisnow, on 23rd November.

On Monday of 7th week, the Pembroke Film Masterclass series will continue with an event in conjunction with Birds Eye View, an organisation established in 2002 to celebrate and support women's work in film.

The Masterclass will open with a free screening of Dreamcatcher (2015), a highly-acclaimed Sundance 2014 prize-winning film by British filmmaker Kim Longinotto. The screening will be followed by a structured series of presentations by a fabulous line-up of film professionals.

Speaking will be Mia Bays (Oscar-winning and twice BAFTA nominated creative producer and strategic film thinker), award-winning director Lindy Heymann, Programme Director Jo Duncombe, and audience expert Peter Buckingham.

The panel will be discussing themes relating to gender equality in film and the surrounding culture; audience participation and an open discussion will be encouraged afterwards.

The event is FREE and open to all, but places are limited. Please register for a place on eventbrite HERE.

The Pembroke Film Masterclass series is supported by Pembroke Annual Fund and was founded by Valentina Ippolito, whose academic research at Oxford University focuses on the cinematic representation of social minorities, with special focus on Italian and Romanian contemporary migration cinema. Valentina wishes to bring together students, academics, film critics and film aficionados, to celebrate the art of cinema at Pembroke College.
