Poetry at Pembroke: Ross Cogan & Open Mic

'Poetry at Pembroke', a series of poetry readings taking place throughout Michaelmas term! 

The series has been organised by Peter King, Lecturer in Philosophy at Pembroke. Performances take place between 8th October - 28th November. 

Ross Cogan has published three collections: Stalin’s Desk (2005) and The Book I Never Wrote (2012) were published by Oversteps Books, and Bragr was published by Seren in July 2018. His verse play, Achyncourt, has been performed in Cheltenham and Wantage, and broadcast on local radio. Ross gained a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Bristol University and works as a freelance writer and researcher, as well as being a Director of the Cheltenham Poetry Festival. A Gregory Award winner, he has won the Exeter, Frogmore, Cannon Sonnet, and Staple Prizes, and been placed in others, including the Troubadour, Poetry London, Cardiff International, Ver Poets, Sentinel, and McLellan Poetry Competitions. His poetry has appeared in The Guardian, Poetry London, PN Review, New Welsh Review, Rialto, Orbis, Stand, Acumen,
Frogmore Papers, Smiths Knoll, Envoi, Staple, Oxford Poetry, The South, and The Swansea Review.
