Professor Sarah Murray

Associate

I am an expert in Australian constitutional law, electoral law and community justice centres. I am a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law and a former Commissioner with the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia and have published widely in Australia and internationally. I am passionate about having research impact with my work and was part of a Western Australian Ministerial Expert Committee on Electoral Reform which resulted in recommendations which were picked up in state legislative reforms to bring about greater electoral equality and stop preference harvesting. I am part of a University of Western Australian team of researchers, who in partnership with the Quill Project from Pembroke College and 8 Australians Law Schools, was successful with a national Australian Research Council multi-year bid to digitise the drafting of the Australian Constitution. I will work with Dr Nicholas Cole and the Quill team while I am visiting Oxford to progress future digitisation projects.
