29th June 2024 marks the 400th anniversary of the signing of the Pembroke charter by King James I.

We are delighted to celebrate this Pembroke milestone with our community and we hope that all members will want to take part - no matter where you are in the world! Read on to find out how you can get involved and join with other Pembrokians to celebrate 400 years of Pembroke in 2024.

Events

We have planned a full calendar of events for 2024 and hope to see as many alumni and friends as possible during the year.

From decade reunions to subject dinners, via the garden party, a grand research festival and special themed evenings, there's something for everyone.

400 Characters

400 Characters is a celebration of the people of Pembroke’s first four centuries, in just 400 characters.

As we look ahead to the next chapter of the College’s life, this digital gallery reflects the unique experiences of those members who have made up this community in times past and today. We will be adding more characters each month throughout our anniversary year, building up to an exhibition in the JCR Art Gallery. Please keep sending in your nominations.

Pembroke 400: History Book

History and Archives

From our origins as Broadgates Hall in the 14th century, Pembroke's history spans well over 400 years, seeing periods of global reform and social change, expansion in College, and links with the lives of a number of notable individuals.

Our Archive contains a variety of historic material on College governance, administration, buildings and people including documents, photographs and memorabilia.
