Scholars’ Lecture and Dinner 2022
The College’s annual Scholars’ Lecture and Dinner is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our undergraduate students and to formally admit new Scholars and Exhibitioners to their titles.
This year’s event, held on 16th November and hosted by the Master and Academic Director, saw all Academic Scholars and Exhibitioners and Choral Scholars invited to a lecture given by Professor Amy Dickman on ‘Warriors, Wildlife & Women: Carnivore Conservation in Tanzania and Beyond’.
Amy is Kaplan Senior Research Fellow at Pembroke and a Professor of Wildlife Conservation at the University, where she is the Director of the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit. She is also the Joint CEO of Lion Landscapes and the Chair of the Board of the Arabian Leopard Fund. She is an award-winning conservationist and has worked on community-based conservation for over 25 years, with a particular focus on African carnivores.
The lecture was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we are grateful to Professor Dickman for giving her time to share her research.
At the end of the lecture, the Master gave the formal Latin oath to induct all new Scholars and Exhibitioners. This was followed by a drinks reception and formal dinner in Hall to celebrate the students’ achievements.
