Pembrokians Represent Oxford at the 2026 Boat Races
NEWS |
For the first time in nine years, Oxford claimed victory in the 80th Women’s Boat Race this April, with an excellent performance from Pembrokian and seasoned Boat-Race-rower Annie Anezakis (2023, Graduate Entry Medicine) as bow seat. In her fourth and final Boat Race, Annie, together with her teammates, dominated The Championship Course, beating Cambridge by three lengths in front of cheering crowds.

"I was incredibly proud to be part of the winning Women’s Blue Boat in the 2026 CHANEL J12 Boat Race," shared Annie. "It was my fourth Boat Race, after three losses. Trying again in the face of repeated defeat isn’t easy. It forces you to confront self-doubt, but also gives you the chance to build resilience. I was fortunate to see it through with the support of an exceptional group of teammates and coaches. Forever proud to be Dark Blue."

With six students and an alumnus racing, as well as alumnus Ciarán Hayes umpiring the Men’s race, the 2026 Boat Race saw a strong Pembrokian presence across the board. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our students and alumni for their determination and involvement in this year’s races.
Many congratulations to Annie Anezakis who rowed in the Women’s Blue Boat as well as Amelia Mills (2025, DPhil Biology) and Katie Doig (2024, History and Politics) who were both in the Women’s Reserves. In the men’s races, warm congratulations go to Alex Underwood (2022, Engineering Science) who represented the Dark Blues in the Men’s Blue Boat, Karol Roman (2025, DPhil Engineering Science) who was in the Men’s Reserves, Kurtis Roethlisberger (2025, MBA) in the Men’s Spare Four and Nikolai Juraschko in the Men’s Lightweights.
Congratulations to the Dark Blues!
