Pembroke second-year selected for the 2026 rugby union Varsity Match

We are delighted to share that student Daisy Heintz (2024, PPE) has been selected as a starting forward for the 2026 rugby Varsity Match at London’s StoneX Stadium on 28th February. 

“It is an honour to be selected for the Blues and to represent my college,” shared Daisy. “This is especially important to me because of Pembroke’s history of rugby excellence – reading about alumna and three-time rugby Blue Karen Jones when I first joined the College inspired me to start playing for the University.”

Many congratulations are also due for students Sammi Shapiro (2024, Experimental Psychology) and Nellie Woods (2025, Biology) who were part of the winning team at Rugby League Varsity against Cambridge last weekend.
