Pembroke launch new Crowdfunding Appeal to support Access and Outreach

NEWS |

With over 400 motivated sixth form pupils participating each year in seminars, lectures, courses and the annual residential summer school, Pembroke’s outreach programme aims to inspire and support competitive applications to Pembroke, to Oxford and to other top universities. Those taking part are encouraged to engage with academic content in new ways, to stretch their own thinking, and to consider new subjects and destinations for higher education. More than 70 schools and colleges in parts of London and the North West and North East of England are involved on a regular basis with Pembroke’s activities, in addition to partnerships with many other universities, charities and third-sector organisations.

To celebrate 10 years of Pembroke’s access work, the College has launched a crowdfunding appeal to support this year’s cohort of pupils.  The aim is to raise £50,000 in the coming months, and alumni and friends of Pembroke are being encouraged to share with their contacts as well as making donations, to help raise the profile of the appeal.  To support the launch, one alumnus has pledged to match, £ for £, the first £15,000 given through the new crowdfunding platform.
