Pembroke Graduate Students UK Champions in Investment Research

Rachel Quek and Julian Barszczewski (both 2014, MSc Financial Economics) have won the 2015 Chartered Financial Analysts Society (CFA) UK Research Challenge.

Rachel and Julian, along with colleagues from Oxford University, took part in the national competition which involved undertaking equity research of an international investment company and presenting their findings to an audience from the industry in London on 12th February.

The team will now go forward to represent the UK at the European round of what is a global competition.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge was introduced to a global audience in 2006 and is considered to be “the investment Olympics” for university students. In only eight years, almost 10,000 students have participated in the competition and learned best practices in equity analysis, report writing, and presentation skills.
