Graduate student, Isabel Wilkinson (Organic Chemistry, 2015) will be attending Parliament to present her DPhil chemistry research to a range of politicians and a panel of expert judges, as part of STEM for BRITAIN on Wednesday 13 March.

The STEM for Britain poster competition is an initiative created to ‘encourage, support and promote Britain's early-stage and early-career research scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians who are an essential part of continuing progress in and development of UK research.’ (STEM for Britain)

Isabel’s poster showcasing her research on drug targets for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy was shortlisted from hundreds of applications, and will be judged against a number of other scientists’ research in this national competition.

Isabel commented: 'I am delighted to be presenting my DPhil research on drug target discovery for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at Parliament next month. It's a wonderful opportunity to share my work with an audience beyond the scientific community and I'm really looking forward to it.'

Isabel’s research has been entered into the chemistry session of the competition, which will end in a gold, silver and bronze prize-giving ceremony. Judged by leading academics, the gold medalist receives £2,000, while silver and bronze receive £1,250 and £750 respectively.

We wish Isabel the best of luck!
