Is Pain an Emotion? Professor Irene Tracey Features on BBC World Service Radio

Pembroke Fellow and Nuffield Professor of Anaesthetic Science, Irene Tracey, featured in a BBC World Service radio segment entitled ‘Is Pain an Emotion?’

As part of a BBC series called Exchanges at the Frontier, Dr Tracey joined presenter Claudia Hammond at the Wellcome Collection in London to discuss the topics of pain, pleasure, relief and consciousness.

The segment was aired on Sunday 14th February 2016, and is available to listen to online.

Prof. Tracey is the Head of the Nuffield Division of Anaesthetics and Associate Head of the Medical Sciences Division.

She also helps to conduct undergraduate medicine interviews at Pembroke, and gives lectures to 2nd year Bachelor of Medicine students on the topics of Nociception, Pain, Pain Relief and Neuroimaging.
