Dr Dyedra Morrissey brings Higher Education Expertise to Festival of Education
NEWS |
The Festival of Education provides an annual opportunity for thousands of educators from diverse sectors to gather for two days of professional development, open discussion, and networking. Now in its 16th year, the Festival brings together some of the most inspiring and thought-provoking voices in education, innovation and leadership, from Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden to author Elif Shfak and Ofsted Chief Inspector Sir Martyn Oliver.

Last November, Dr Dyedra Morrissey, Pembroke’s Lecturer in Study Skills, was selected to join the Festival Advisory Board. Dyedra’s experience as a leadership development expert, coach and consultant, as well as Lecturer at Pembroke and the Said Business School, brings a unique perspective to the Board. She joins a diverse group of Advisors representing schools, colleges, academy trusts and education organisations, who work to ensure that Festival content is relevant and inspiring for people working across the sector.
At this year’s Festival of Education, which took place at Wellington College on 2-3 July 2026, Dyedra delivered an interactive session on ‘Combatting Procrastination – From Time Management to Time Leadership’. She spoke to a full marquee, with guests stood outside keen to hear her insights.

Dyedra shared: “The Festival of Education UK has been one of my favourite events for the last few years. I have had the privilege of speaking there since 2024 and the audience always proves to be one of the most engaged and enthusiastic. I love the idea of making the theories and methods I use in leadership and skills development in the higher education and private sector applicable to the wider education sector and focusing on practical strategies that educators and education leaders from a variety of settings and organisations can apply in their day-to-day work.”
In addition to founding Pembroke’s Skills Hub, through which she supports our students to develop academic, professional and personal skills through workshops, lectures and one-to-one mentoring, Dyedra has worked in the leadership development space with a range of private and public sector clients. She draws on psychological research, learning science, philosophy and management theory to help people of all ages, from students and school leaders to start-ups and government authorities, to achieve their goals.
The Festival of Education aims to inspire, challenge and empower educators from all sectors, providing an inclusive platform for sharing diverse ideas and fostering discussion. Find out more about the Festival here.
