Alumnus Professor Sir Chris Whitty appointed Chair of University of Oxford’s Alumni Board
NEWS |

Earlier this summer, the University of Oxford’s Chancellor William Hague announced that Pembroke alumnus Professor Sir Chris Whitty will be taking over as Chair of the University’s Alumni Board.
Lord Hague shared: “Chris is one of Britain’s most distinguished public servants and scientists. During the COVID pandemic he became a familiar presence in homes across the country, helping to guide the nation through an extraordinarily difficult period with calm judgement, clarity and integrity. He has devoted his career to improving public health and advancing scientific understanding, and I can think of few people better placed to help strengthen the relationship between Oxford and its global alumni community.
Oxford’s alumni are one of the University’s great strengths, contributing through leadership, mentorship, philanthropy and advocacy across the world. The Board plays an important role in ensuring that alumni expertise and experience continue to inform and support the University’s ambitions.”
We look forward to seeing the University’s Alumni Board continue going from strength to strength under Sir Chris’ leadership.
