Admissions 2020: Pembroke will provide places for all offer holders

NEWS |

Pembroke College is committed to recruiting and admitting the most academically able undergraduates each year, regardless of their background. We are proud of our diverse community and the lead that we provide in helping to improve access to higher education.

We have taken time to carefully consider the merits of our individual offer holders and have made a decision about each one separately.  We have respected the grades predicted by their teachers, our own assessments of their abilities and the evidence-based learning of our Fellows, as well as taking into account the effect of the uncertainty that any further appeals process will involve. We are pleased to announce that we are able to provide places for all of our offer holders.  As a consequence, more than 70% of our UK student intake in 2020 will come from State schools.

We will endeavour to admit all of our offer holders in 2020 but we respect the University’s advice which will require us to consider whether a small number of them will be asked to defer their place until 2021 in order to ensure that the health and safety of students, staff and members of the public is not compromised.

We look forward to welcoming our 2020 cohort into our community in October.
