Gabriella Bailey (b. 1999) grew up in the Hardy country surrounded by animals, she learnt to paint and draw alongside her father Julian in his studio at The Old Vicarage, Stinsford nr Dorchester. Gabriella moved to Oxford to read English Literature at New College, specialising in Old and Middle English, and gained a first-class degree in 2021. The city has since become her home. Gabriella works primarily in oil painting and drypoint etching. She is a member of the Oxford Printmakers Cooperative and the Stinsford Studios Group, and is represented by L Curtis Fine Art. ‘A World Away’ is her first major exhibition.

Julian Bailey (b. 1963) was born in Cheshire to artist parents Robert Dudley and Anna Bailey. He trained at the Ruskin School of Art as a member of New College, Oxford. In 1985 he further studied for an MA at the Royal Academy Schools. Julian and the family moved to West Dorset in 1998 and have lived at the Old Vicarage ever since. Since 1980, he has exhibited widely in the UK, the USA, and Australia. Julian’s work can be found in collections throughout the country, including the National Trust, the HRH The Prince of Wales, and the Pembroke College JCR Art Fund. He has exhibited with Browse and Darby, London for some thirty years.
