Poetry at Pembroke: Poets from Oxford's Back Room

'Poetry at Pembroke', a series of poetry readings taking place throughout Trinity term!
The series has been organised by Dr Peter King, Lecturer in Philosophy at Pembroke. Performances take place every Monday evening at 6pm between 23rd April - 11th June.

Paul Surman is a member of Back Room Poets in Oxford, where he helps organise workshops and readings. His poetry has appeared in numerous magazines such as Acumen, Envoi, Magma, Orbis, and Smiths Knoll. His collection Places is due out from Oversteps Books in 2018.
David Olsen’s Unfolding Origami won the Cinnamon Press Poetry Collection Award, and his second full-length collection, Past Imperfect, is forthcoming from Cinnamon this summer. The recent Exit Wounds is his fourth chapbook published in the U.S. His work appears in leading journals and anthologies on both sides of the Atlantic.
Elaine Baker comes from Wantage, and is currently doing an M.A. with The Poetry School, London. She was a Mslexia Poetry finalist in 2017, and her poetry has appeared in numerous places including Poetic Republic, Brittle Star, and The North.
She is a qualified teacher, but now works as a freelance creative educator, leading and facilitating poetry workshops. She is Patron of Writing at Didcot Girls’ School, and absolutely loves inspiring and mentoring young writers there. She blogs about this at elaine-baker.com.
