'Poetry at Pembroke', a series of poetry readings taking place throughout Michaelmas term!

About Poets
Lucy Newlyn was for thirty-five years Fellow and Tutor in English at St Edmund Hall, where she is now an Emeritus Fellow. She has published widely on English Romanticism, and is the author of two collections of poetry: Ginnel (Carcanet, 2005) and Earth’s Almanac (Enitharmon, 2015). She is literary editor of the Oxford Magazine, and co-founder of the Hall Writers’ Forum. Her fifteen-year memoir, Diary of a Bipolar Explorer, will be published by Signal Books in February 2018.
Erica McAlpine is Associate Professor and Tutorial Fellow in English at St Edmund Hall. Her poetry has appeared in American and British magazines, including the Times Literary Supplement, The Spectator, Parnassus, Ambit, and Stand. She published her first collection, The Country Gambler, with Shearsman Books last year. She is also a scholar of 19th and 20th century poetry, and a translator of Horace. She lives in Oxford with her husband and two young children.
