Interested in the Film and TV industry? Join us for a panel with a lineup of industry leaders and hear them discuss their careers in Film and TV, the industry's challenges and nuances, and how a story goes from a nascent idea to the screen. 

The panel will be followed by an audience Q&A and a drinks reception. 

Panel Speakers

Farhana Bhula


Farhana Bhula is Director of Film4. She joined Film4 in January 2022 and has overseen notable feature film projects for the division, including Molly Manning Walker’s debut film How To Have Sex, Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers, as well as hotly anticipated upcoming films such as Mark Jenkin’s Rose of Nevada, Oliver Hermanus’ The History of Sound and Philippa Lowthorpe’s H is for Hawk. She launched Future Takes in partnership with the BFI, currently in its second iteration, to support and nurture emerging talent.  Other key credits for Farhana include: Wild Horse Nine (Martin McDonagh), Sacrifice (Romain Gavras), Wicked Little Letters (Thea Sharrock), and The Voice of Hind Rahab (Kaouther Ben Hania).

Michael Winterbottom


Michael Winterbottom is a BAFTA & Silver Bear-winning director. Known for works like Welcome To Sarajevo, The Trip, and 24 Hour Party People, he is a prolific filmmaker, making many of his films through his production company, Revolution Films. Credits include Greed, Jude, The Wedding Guest, Eleven Days In May, and Wonderland. Michael has directed a roster packed full of talent, including frequent collaborations with writer Frank Cottrell-Boyce, and actors Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. His eclectic catalogue of work boasts individuals such as Angelina Jolie, Christopher Eccleston, Dev Patel, Brad Pitt, Jessica Alba, and Kate Winslet. Michael studied English at Balliol College.

Suzanne Mackie


Suzanne Mackie is an accomplished, Emmy and BAFTA-award winning Producer and the founder of her own production company, Orchid Pictures. During her time as Creative Director of Left Bank Pictures, Suzanne brought to life works such as Behind Her Eyes, Mad Dogs, Misbehaviour and The Crown which has received wide international interest and critical acclaim. In 2021, The Crown became the first show to win all drama categories at the Emmy Awards in one year. In 2020, after twelve years at Left Bank, Suzanne set up her own company, Orchid Pictures. Working with Netflix to produce high-end TV, the company's first show, an adaptation of Agatha Christie's 'The Seven Dials Mystery', will be releasing soon.

Charles Moore


As a leading lawyer and executive producer within film & TV, Charles has represented all manner of clients including major streaming services, US TV networks, and all US film studios. He joined Wiggin LLP in 2004 to set up their Film & TV Group, becoming Senior Partner in 2020. Alongside his accomplished career in Law, Charles has produced many acclaimed films such as The Eagle, The History Boys, and The Choral. He established Viewfinder Films to assist producers in sourcing financing & distribution and currently works as an Executive Producer making writer-driven independent films. In a move which transformed the UK TV sector, Charles initiated the lobbying of the UK government and played a key role in the consultation process that resulted in the UK TV High End Tax Credit.
