The event
As part of our 400th anniversary celebrations, Pembroke College Golf Society (PCGS) is holding a golf day on Friday 5th July.
The PCGS 400th Anniversary Golf Day will feature the inaugural competition for the Pembroke 400 Cup and we would love to see some new golfing faces at this event.
The venue
Tadmarton Heath Golf Club, Wiggington, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX15 5HL. This wonderful heathland golf course is highly regarded and combines an excellent layout with some beautiful views over the rolling Oxfordshire countryside.
The golf
Individual and team stableford competitions played over 18 holes.
Although a wide variety of glittering prizes will be up for grabs, the competitive side of the day is secondary to PCGS’s overarching goal of bringing together a diverse group of Pembrokian golfers to enjoy a fun day out in wonderful surroundings. We will try to pair the teams to ensure a mixture of abilities in each team so please do not worry that your standard of golf is not good enough. The PCGS is a broad golfing church! If you are/or have been capable of knocking a ball around 18 holes in low triple digits or better you will be in good company!
Format and timings for the day
The day will begin with registration with tea or coffee and bacon rolls available.
We have 10 tee times from 09.28am to 10.40am and are able to accommodate up to 40 players playing as 4 balls. If you would prefer an earlier or later tee time (within the above range) we will endeavour to accommodate this as far as possible.
A buffet lunch will be served on a rolling basis as groups complete their rounds and the day will conclude with prize giving.
Detailed timings together with directions and further information about the day will be made available nearer the time to those who have registered.
Price
The cost of the event has been generously subsidised by both PGCS and College. This has enabled us to offer the day at £35 per person (for those age 35 and under or current members of College staff) and £70 per person for alumni and spouses/partners. This includes tea or coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf, buffet lunch and prizes and represents excellent value for money.
