Oxford Open Doors

PAST EVENT | 13 September 2014 13:00 - 13 September 2014 17:00

Pembroke is taking part in the Oxford Open Doors 2014 event on the afternoon of Saturday 13th September only.

We welcome visitors to come and look around our historic buildings and quads - and to cross Oxford's newest over-street bridge to explore our modern facilities, where Farthings Cafe will be open for refreshments.

The highlight of the afternoon will be a public lecture by Pembroke academic Dr Adrian Gregory: Why write another book about the First World War?  The lecture takes place at 2:30pm in The Pichette Auditorium (booking not necessary).

Dr Gregory published "A War of Peoples 1914-1919" earlier this year, and was historical adviser for Britiain's Great War the 2014 BBC documentary series presented by Jeremy Paxman.
