Forest of Dean Steam Railway Alumni Trip
UPCOMING EVENT | 01 August 2026 11:00 - 01 August 2026 15:00
Your local Alumni Ambassador, Andrew Tabor (1978), would like to invite you to join your fellow Pembroke College alumni for a Steam Train Ride on the 1st August at 11am hosted by Director of the Forest of Dean Railway, Clive Stainton (1978). Enjoy a relaxing journey along the Dean Forest Railway pulled by one of their steam locomotives.
Your journey will last approximately 90 minutes, covering a nine mile round trip along the forest line. You will begin your journey at Norchard Station and travel south to Lydney Junction and north to Parkend before returning to Norchard. The train will stop for around 20 minutes at both ends of the line (Lydney Junction and Parkend), while the steam locomotive decouples then runs round the train and recouples at the other end, ready to pull the train in the opposite direction, where you’ll have the perfect opportunity to get some photos of the train.
Afterwards the group will be able to have a 30-minute tour of the workshop, browse the museum and grab a bite to eat at the on-site café.
Tickets cost £14 for adults and £9 for children and can be booked by clicking the link below. Please book your ticket(s) before the 18th July to guarantee your place at this event.
This event is fully accessible.
