Eastern Christianity Series: Archimandrite Dr Nikodemos Anagnostopoulo

While small in numbers relative to global Christianity, multi-ethnic Eastern Christian communities are amongst the most ancient natives in the Middle East and the wider West Asia region. Four of the five most important heirarchical centres in Christianity are in this region, whose roots go back to two millenia. These lecture seminars are part of the series on Eastern Christianity held in the last four years, which highlight the rich historical, theological, literary and cultural heritage of Eastern family of churches. 

On 5 June Assistant Professor, University of Notre Dame in England, Archimandrite Dr Nikodemos Anagnostopoulos will speak on "Religious Minorities in contemporary Turkey: The Case of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Greek Orthodox minority of Constantinople".

Convened by Dr Hratch Tchilingirian and Professor Theo Maarten Van Lint.

The lectures are open to all. They take place every Tuesday at 5pm in the Allen and Overy Room, Pembroke College, Oxford between 1 May and 5 June 2018.
