A Decade of Digitizing Democracy: An exhibition and lecture introducing the Quill Project
UPCOMING EVENT | 03 November 2025 15:00 - 03 November 2025 18:00
The Quill Project, a digital humanities initiative that studies the history of negotiated legal texts, is celebrating 10 years of innovation, collaboration, and developing tools that make the history of constitutional texts clearer and more accessible to all.

Join us on 3 November 2025 from 3pm onwards for tea and cupcakes, and explore our anniversary exhibition showcasing Quill’s work on the constitutional histories of the United States, India, Australia, and Northern Ireland.
At 5pm, enjoy a special lecture by Dr Nicholas Cole, followed by a drinks reception. Try your hand at deciphering 19th-century handwriting, and learn about internship opportunities with the Quill Project.
Bonus: The first twenty visitors will receive free gifts!

Dr Nicholas Cole is the Academic Director and Senior Research Fellow at Pembroke College. He is also the Founder and Director of the Quill Project. His research focuses on American legal history, the evolution of modern political thought, the reception of classical ideas in the modern world, and the use of digital methods to advance humanities research.
