Sir Geoffrey was the Chairman of the Chancery Bar Association from 1999 to 2001 and Chairman of the Bar Council in 2007. He was Chairman of the Social Mobility Foundation from 2008-2011.
Sir Geoffrey is also a member of the Lawtech UK Panel and chairman of its UK Jurisdiction Taskforce.
About the Series
When in the early 1970s a generous benefactor of Pembroke College suggested the establishment of a distinguished lecture series in law sponsored by the College, no similar event existed in Oxford’s Law Faculty. The Blackstone Lectures have since 1976 provided audiences with the distilled thoughts of the most distinguished legal minds of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Law alumni and students
This year, to celebrate our 400th anniversary, the lecture will be followed by our Law subject dinner, an opportunity for Pembrokians to reunite with old friends and to meet others whose journeys began in similar ways at Pembroke. If you are a Law alumnus or current student, please find more information here.
