Art Installation at Pembroke for Oxford Contemporary Music Sound and Light Trail

PAST EVENT | 20 November 2015 18:00 - 21 November 2015 22:00

Pembroke is to host a piece of installation art as part of Oxford Contemporary Music’s 2015 Light and Sound Trail, in conjunction with the Oxford Christmas Light Festival, on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November.

Displayed in the Old Quad for two days, the work - Piano Migrations + Music Box Migrations by artist Kathy Hinde - will be situated on a plinth at the West end of the Old Quad grass; viewers can watch and hear the exquisite illusion of birds twitching and fluttering across the strings of an old upright piano.

The Light and Sound Trail uses eight locations around the city including Wellington Square, the Pitt Rivers and Natural History Museums. Pembroke, the only of Oxford University’s Colleges to be participating in the trail, is pleased to welcome members of the local community to view this contemporary piece in the traditional College surroundings.

Public viewing takes place 6pm-10pm on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November.
