Incoming JCR President and current Pembroke undergraduate student Harrison Kaye (2020, Chinese) has been interning at the English Service of Radio Taiwan International (RTI). He has been presenting a weekly five-minute audio programme titled Climate Crunch, which discusses environmental issues in Taiwan.

Many congratulations to Javier Pérez Sandoval, Pembroke Stipendiary Lecturer in Politics, for winning the 2022 William Anderson Award for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of federalism or intergovernmental relations, state, and local politics. 

Pembroke College Oxford agrees with the University of Oxford in its categoric rejection of the use of Non-Disclosure Agreements. We strongly condemn the use of Non-Disclosure Agreements where they are used as a response to complaints of sexual misconduct, violence or other inappropriate behaviour.

Congratulations to Pembroke DPhil student Warren A. Stanislaus, who had his article “From Cool Japan to Cold Japan: Grime Cyborgs in Black Britain” published in the Japan Forum, the official journal of the British Association for Japanese Studies.  

Congratulations to Dr Rob Johnson, Pembroke Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Changing Character of War Research Centre (CCW), who has been appointed as Director of the Secretary of State’s Office for Net Assessment and Challenge (SONAC) for the next two years.

Congratulations to Pembroke College DPhil student, Benjamin Bréant, for winning the ‘Best Academic Poster’ prize from the Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Oxford. Ben, a former president of the College’s MCR, also presented his poster at the World Sleep Congress in Rome earlier this year.

Pembroke College is proud to be part of an Oxford University Graduate Scholarship Scheme for Ukrainian refugees whose lives have been impacted by the recent war.
