Congratulations to Pembroke Student Henry Worsley (2021, History and Italian), who won the ‘Mrs Claude Beddington Modern Languages Prize’ for his performance in Italian prelims! We've asked Henry to share his experience studying at Oxford and managing his workload as a first-year student.

Our warmest congratulations to Pembroke alumna and GB rowing cox Erin Kennedy MBE (2011, History and English) whose team won gold at the European Rowing Championships in Munich this August. We wish her the very best for her continued treatment and look forward to following her sporting journey in years to come.

We continue our Celebrating Success series with Pembroke Student Hailey Sockalingam (2019, History) who was awarded a Gibbs Book Prize for a high average mark in her History Finals papers. Congratulations to Hailey!

We were pleased to welcome over 100 Pembrokians back to College for our annual Alumni Weekend, which included a 50th Anniversary lunch for 1970-72 Matriculants, a College Treasures Talk with the Librarian, and a service of prayer and thanksgiving for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

With deep sadness Pembroke College mourns the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and extends its sincere condolences to the King and members of the Royal Family.

We are delighted to share that Dr Barnabas Aspray has published his first monograph with CUP. Titled Ricœur at the Limits of Philosophy: God, Creation, and Evil, the book explores the thought of one of the twentieth century’s greatest religious philosophers.

Since 1999, Pembroke College has been hosting a visiting scholar each year as part of the Fulbright programme. This Trinity Term we were delighted to welcome Professor Alison Brysk as our Fulbright Visiting Professor.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of a much-valued colleague, teacher and scientist, Dr Holger Kramer.

Congratulations to Pembroke Student Maggie Wang (2019, History and Economics) who was awarded two University prizes for her performance in Finals! Maggie also wrote a poetry pamphlet during her time at Oxford, this can be purchased on the London Review Bookshop website.
