The College is saddened to report the death of alumnus and Honorary Fellow, Peter B. Grose.

It is with deep sadness that the College reports the death of Dr Guy Newbury, Lecturer in Music at Pembroke for over 27 years.  Guy was a much-loved colleague, tutor, composer and musician, and will be dearly missed.

For the sixth year, a new selection of photographic portraits has been hung in the College Dining Hall to celebrate the lives of some of our Pembrokians, and the extraordinary things that they have achieved since leaving Pembroke.

This September, Pembroke student Klaudia Wegschaider (2018, DPhil Politics) used the Melandra Castle Fund to present her doctoral research work at the Annual Conference of the American Political Science Association (APSA).

This inter-disciplinary workshop recently took place took place at Pembroke College, convened by Pembroke academics. It sought to investigate how the law is translated in the clinical context in organ donation and transplantation. 
 

A number of Pembroke students worked to gather the data for a biodiversity audit. They spent a number of days around the College Main Site, the Geoffrey Arthur Building, and the Sportsground, measuring trees, birds, insects and earthworms.

Using the Tutorials Plus Fund, Pembroke tutors and students in Chinese Studies recently spent an afternoon at the Ashmolean Museum with Professor Anne Gerritsen, Professor of History at the University of Warwick and Chair of Asian Art at the University of Leiden.

The College is saddened to learn of the death of Emeritus Fellow Professor Paul Raphael Hyams, who was Fellow and Tutor in Medieval History at Pembroke for twenty years.

We are proud to introduce Beth Kume-Holland (2013, History) as the latest focus of our alumni success series. Beth has been named in this year’s ‘Disability Power 100’ list as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK.
